About Us

Grace Notes Initiative connects passionate young musicians with meaningful performance opportunities throughout the community. We arrange concerts at retirement homes, welfare societies, and service clubs across the Lower Mainland, creating experiences where young artists gain valuable stage practice while sharing their passion with audiences who deeply appreciate music. Whether you are preparing for an upcoming RCM exam, rehearsing for a music competition, or just looking for an opportunity to perform for others, the Grace Notes Initiative is here to help you reach your goals.

It all started when one of the founders, Jerry Zheng, began giving monthly piano concerts at the Fleetwood Villa Retirement Home. Seeing the healing effect it had on the residents, Jerry decided to expand his performances, inviting fellow pianists, vocalists, and student jazz ensembles to perform not just at Fleetwood Villa but also at various other community venues, including Rotary Clubs and Community Wellness Societies in the Downtown East Side. What started as a pianist sharing his love of classical music with a local retirement home has turned into a society of young musicians performing for audiences all over the Lower Mainland.
